Grim reaper

I must say people are pretty passionate about grim reapers. (I have one too and it is my favorite.) This was a cover up. On wikipedia, it says the “grim reaper” is a personification of death. I guess by doing so it makes it easy for the public to accept the concept of dying. Maybe it became popular because of our desire to consciously confront death, to refuse to just die and disappear ? Then again humans love story telling and glorification of life (ah, the drama), so may be it was invented just to humor us. what’s your take on this???
